CARP – It’s been a minute since Carp Health Access (CHA) launched the Carp Fitness Park off Langstaff Drive near the community’s soccer fields, so on June 7 the organization dedicated to community health will offer a free fitness education session.
On Sept. 10, 2022, the CHA officially opened the Carp Fitness Park, a fun, outdoor workout centre with a variety of all-season fitness equipment that can be used for self-guided workouts.

On Saturday, June 7, join the CHA for a one-hour fitness education session from 9 to 10 a.m. at the fitness park.
“Would you like to find out how to use the exercise equipment in the fitness park at the soccer fields?” CHA released in a statement May 8. “Please join us for demonstrations on how to incorporate the equipment into your fitness routine, or for just while you are watching your child play soccer or walking your dog.”
The session is hosted by CHA and CARP Active, a local walking and running, club and will be led by Carp’s Christine Harrison. Harrison is a long-time competitive champion bodybuilder and psychotherapist who founded the Women’s Community of Body Building in 2020.
“For me, being able to witness people’s success and be a part of their goals, has given me a sense of contentment that I have never found in my own competing,” Harrison told West Carleton Online in 2024. “There are women who have overcome some incredible obstacles. Not just major weight loss, women who have come in that were in the middle of chemo; that have just undergone surgery; that are transitioning in to new stages of life. We had an athlete who had just lost a leg in a motorcycle accident. We’ve seen some amazing stories and they’re so inspirational. During our transformation category at the shows, there are no dry eyes. It’s pretty special to be a part of it.”
There is no cost to attend, just show up to the fitness park found just of Langstaff Drive by 9 a.m.
