DUNROBIN – The upcoming Commissionaires Ottawa Open at Eagle Creek Golf Club is preparing to improve on the success of the inaugural event last summer, and last Friday (July 5) organizers gave the media a chance to ask questions, learn about the new PGA Tour Americas and most importantly, play the course.

DUNROBIN – Two events are complete in the North American swing of PGA Tour Americas with two more in between before many of North America’s best golfers come to Dunrobin for the Commissionaires Ottawa Open – a pivotal event in the Fortinet Cup series which could provide a door in to the world’s top tour.

FITZROY HARBOUR – The annual Fitzroy Harbour Men’s Fastball League tournament brought some great ball to the Harbour and even a bit of Latin American flavour.

LONDON – Carp’s Will Batley headed to London, ON, last week (June 6 to 8) and brought home a gold and silver from Ontario’s high school track and field championship, setting a new provincial record in the 200-metre sprint along the way.

BELLEVILLE – West Carleton Secondary School’s (WCSS) Will Batley continues to tear up the track, breaking more records at the Ontario Federation of Schools Athletic Association (OFSAA) East Regional track and field championships and provincial qualifier.

KANATA – West Carleton Secondary School’s Will Batley continues to dominate the high school track scene setting two new records at the National Capital Secondary School Athletic Association (NCSSA) at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility last week.

LANSDOWN – Football has taken Kinburn’s Kris Twardek all over the world, but now he’s back in Ottawa playing the game he loves in front of friends and family in the Canadian Premier League (CPL).

DUNROBIN – The Commissionaires Ottawa Open is getting ready to return to Eagle Creek Golf Club this summer and is still looking for volunteers to help run Ottawa’s biggest golf tournament this summer.

FITZROY HARBOUR – It was a full house Friday (April 5) at the community centre, playing trivia, enjoying some laughs and raising money for another national championship fastball tournament coming to West Carleton this summer.
