WEST CARLETON – When you’re dealing with the unpredictability of winter weather, add in the unpredictability of the COVID-19 pandemic, while organizing an outdoor hockey league requires pivots as fast as the ones used by the players on the ice.

DUNROBIN – A brother and sister team who grew up in West Carleton are on their way to the Winter Olympic games in Beijing this February.

CARP – The Huntley Curling Club’s Team LIKE, in only two seasons of competition, will be playing in its first U18 provincial championship early in the new year.

ARNPRIOR – Before they even stepped on the ice Saturday (Dec. 18) night, the Rivermen had already won the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL) regular season game due to the Bytown Royals dressing ineligible players.

CALGARY – Carp’s Mason McTavish will be getting a Team Canada jersey for Christmas this year, named to the team yesterday (Dec. 12), for the world junior championship in Edmonton later this month.

ARNPRIOR – The top two teams in the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL) West Division battled in Arnprior Sunday (Dec. 5) and by the end of the game, the West Carleton Rivermen now find themselves third in the division after a 5-3 loss.

KANATA – The West Carleton Secondary School (WCSS) Wolves Tier 1 non-contact boys hockey team had a great 2021 season, but just couldn’t find a way to beat Earl of March, the only team to beat the Wolves all year.
