CARP – While West Carleton has a number of softball fields in the community, this summer volunteers and vested parties worked together to build the community’s first baseball diamond.

CARP – The Ontario Four Horse Hitch Series (Ontario Four) is thrilled to announce a significant partnership with the Carp Fair to host the prestigious Ontario Four Finals for two consecutive years in 2026 and 2027.

DUNROBIN – Thanksgiving is synonymous with football, and this year the long weekend marked the end of the regular season of the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA) for the West Carleton Wolverines.

DUNROBIN – Long-time Team Canada captain and Torino 2006 gold medallist Todd Nicholson will be the first para hockey player inducted into the Canadian Paralympic Team Hall of Fame along with two other legendary Canadian athletes.

KANATA – For the first time in its history and for the final equestrian competition of this year, Wesley Clover Parks (401 Corkstown Rd.) will host Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) level eventing from Sept. 26 through 28.

WEST CARLETON – Fitzroy Harbour is getting a reputation as a fastball factory as one native and one-near local who plays for the West Carleton Electric have got the call to represent Canada at the upcoming Pan American Championship later this fall.

ARNPRIOR – Kinburn’s Curtis Proulx won his second Madawaska Golf Club Men’s Championship over the long weekend, setting a club championship record that will be hard to beat.

ST. JOHN’S – West Carleton athletes were on centre stage for the Canada Summer Games, with both Carp’s Will Batley and Fitzroy Harbour’s Conner Hopper bringing home multiple gold medals.

DUNROBIN – For two of the three West Carleton Wolverines Football Club teams the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA) season started Saturday (Aug. 16) and the two young teams provided wins for their home team fans.

CARP – Someone finally knocked off the Micksburg Twins at the Carp Shootout, but unfortunately it wasn’t either of West Carleton’s home teams.
