FITZROY HARBOUR – Ward 5 Coun. Clarke Kelly who attended last night’s (Nov. 1) proponent-led Fitzroy Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) agrees with the rest of the community members attending last night’s meeting, and feels the project is not in the best interest of the Fitzroy Harbour community.

KINBURN – It was only a handful of Ward 5 residents present for Ward 5 Coun. Clarke Kelly’s public budget consultation Thursday (Oct. 19) evening, but those in attendance represented a wide demographic, and each and every one was able to as a question to the councillor or special guest City of Ottawa treasurer Cyril Rogers.

KINBURN – A group of 21 Ward 5 farmers representing a wide range of agricultural interests, sat in the round in Roly Armitage Hall Monday (Sept. 18) evening taking part in Coun. Clarke Kelly’s first meeting of his Agricultural Advisory Council.

CITY HALL – Woodlawn’s Ken Holmes was on the docket for last Thursday’s (Sept. 7) Agriculture and Rural Affairs committee’s (ARAc) open mike session, this time updating the committee on the latest work of Rural Transit Solutions (RTS).

TORONTO – New Kanata-Carleton MPP Karen McCrimmon, elected on July 27 as the Ontario Liberal Party Member of Provincial Parliament for Kanata-Carleton, was officially sworn-in at Queen’s Park on Aug. 30.

KANATA-CARLETON – It was a challenging, car trouble-riddled trip, but it was worth if for Ontario Liberal leader candidate Nate Erskine-Smith, who visited Kanata-Carleton last week and left with new MPP Karen McCrimmon’s endorsement.

CONSTANCE BAY – The by-election is in the rearview mirror (July 27) and after a spring and summer without a provincial representative, West Carleton now has one in MPP Karen McCrimmon and the familiar face is ready to do battle with the Doug Ford-led Ontario government.

OTTAWA VALLEY – Ontario Liberal leader candidate Bonnie Crombie headed to the Ottawa area this week, eager to begin her second eastern Ontario tour speaking with Liberals about how to build back trust in their provincial government.
