Last Wednesday (Nov. 13), council took the first steps towards passing the 2025 budget. While there will never be enough money or efficiencies to satisfy every resident, we are working hard at spending your money wisely. 

OPINION – It’s been a year since I was chosen to lead the Ontario Federation of Agriculture as its president, and as we prepare for our annual general meeting next week, it’s a good time to reflect on what’s been a busy 12 months in this new role.

I am writing, once again, to follow up on my letter dated Sept. 30, which I sent as an email attachment. Unfortunately, I have yet to receive a response from your office.

OPINION – A coalition representing over a dozen community organizations, The Ottawa Coalition for a People’s Budget, is saying that the 2025 budget presented by Mayor Mark Sutcliffe today (Nov. 13) doesn’t only do little to address the multiple crises faced by the city, it exacerbates them.

I was sworn in as your Councillor on November 15th, 2022, and my first motion was passed on December 7th, 2022, directing City staff to undertake the effort necessary to bring back the Rural Summit.

OPINION – With the world becoming increasingly connected and digitized, cyber security is a growing concern.
