ARNPRIOR – Marshall Bay author Phillippa Barron Cranston’s new book shares the art of her legendary brother Toller Cranston and the stories behind the works.

CARP – Last year the volunteers of St. Paul’s United Church received a New Horizons grant from the federal government. With it they hosted a speaker series focusing on senior issues tacking it on to the back end of the church’s very popular Soupindipity soup and sandwich event on the first Tuesday of every month.

CARP – Santa was treated to a winter wonderland Saturday (Dec. 13) evening as the community, and the village gave the jolly red guy and his wife a proper West Carleton welcome.

OTTAWA – A new exhibit at the City of Ottawa Archives focuses on the city’s agricultural history and includes many nods to West Carleton thanks to the input of the Dunrobin and District Women’s Institute (WI).

CONSTANCE BAY – Constance Bay’s holiday lights contest returns and those who really light it up, will get a chance to win free snow plowing for a year.

LANARK COUNTY – A Carp resident was crowned the winner of the second annual Lanark Lit writing competition for her work of non-fiction titled Hold On.

CARP – For 38 years the Carp Food Drive has been an important part of the community’s holiday celebrations.

DUNROBIN – One of the season’s first holiday events, the Dunrobin Christmas Tree Lighting will celebrate its 10th anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 30.

STITTSVILLE – It’s an extremely rare opportunity for youth to get to take the stage outside of school, but in 10 days a cast of 40 will get to shine under the stage lights this holiday season thanks to the volunteer organization Spotlight Youth Collective.

CARP – This year’s Diefenbunker Artists-in-Residence featured a pair of collaborators who each presented their own take on the Cold War experience and the flower as a symbol of peace.
