GALETTA – Sunday (Nov. 24) was a cool, lazy kind of morning, the perfect type of day to head to Galetta and have someone else make breakfast for you.

WEST CARLETON – Santa will have to be agile Dec. 7, he’s the guest of honour at three different parades in West Carleton all on the same night.

FITZROY HARBOUR – For the second year since COVID, the Fitzroy Harbour Craft Market drew a large crowd to the Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre on a sunny Saturday (Nov. 16) to check out the more than 40 vendors selling their one-of-a-kind products there.

CARP – The Diefenbunker 2024 Artist-in-Residence, based on his own Chinese upbringing, wanted to shine a light on the secret military base’s hidden heroes, those who weren’t soldiers, but were vital to keeping the Diefenbunker humming while it served as the emergency shelter to Canada’s highest-serving politicians.

ALMONTE – Did you know Geoheritage Day has been celebrated in the Ottawa area for over a decade?

CARP – While the Carp Farmers’ Market is over for the year, the Carp Farmers’ Christmas Market is a whole different thing. For one, it’s two days.

KINBURN – It was the hottest Hallowe’en night on record for the Ottawa area, but Kinburn’s volunteer firefighters kept calm and partied on.

CARP – This past Saturday (Oct. 29) the Carp Farmer’s Market closed out its 34th season with its popular Spook-Tacular Market event.

WEST CARLETON – While communities such as Fitzroy Harbour and Constance Bay celebrated Hallowe’en over the weekend (and we’ll have words and photos from both those events eventually), there are still some hot spots to hit in West Carleton on the actual day (Oct. 31) of haunting.

CONSTANCE BAY – It was a night of laughter, music and dance, fitting themes for the Rural Root Theatre Company’s 20th anniversary celebration held in El-Chantiry Hall Saturday (Oct. 19) evening.
