DUNROBIN – After more than a year of crickets, the Dunrobin plaza is now a very busy place.

CARP – Last week (April 8), roughly 30 people gathered around a communal table filled with great recipes made with local food to share in potluck style, and following dinner plotted to save the world.

PAKENHAM – About 70 farmers and people association with the local agriculture industry gathered in Pakenham for breakfast April 3, and with the current political situation, they had a lot on their plate.

CARP – It was the first federal all-candidates debate for West Carleton voters to feature all four major party candidates since 2021 (and that one was online) and it was a welcome return to the democratic process the community expects, and quite frankly, deserves.

KINBURN – The Snow Moles came to Kinburn last week (April 1) for a scurry around the community and in terms of walkability, there were some highs and lows found in the village.

WEST CARLETON – With lots of rain this week as the spring freshet continues, the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) has raised its conditions from a flood watch to flood warning in just three days.

MARATHON VILLAGE – An evening fire last night (April 1) destroyed a farmhouse on Donald B. Munro Drive just outside of Marathon Village.

CARP – Part annual general meeting, part Carp Hills history lesson, March 27 was another example of how the Friends of the Carp Hills (FCH) have long done a lot with very little.

CARP – Syrup season is here and now you can shop Canadian, buy local and support the 1st Carp Scouts all in one shot.

CONSTANCE BAY – Last year Ottawa’s rural residents had their say in the months long run up to the city’s 2024 Rural Summit held late last fall.
