Carp’s Neil Falls to receive Mayor’s City Builder Award

CARP – The Neighbourhood Tomato Community Garden is a place for the Carp community to nourish its green thumb while helping nourish the greater West Carleton community.

CONSTANCE BAY – Legion Week officially kicked off yesterday (Sept. 18) at the West Carleton Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 616, with a small ceremony honouring those who keep the Legion running and a late lunch to enjoy the day.

MARATHON VILLAGE – Sunday’s (Sept. 11) annual community Marathon Village corn boil featured a picnic table that could have only come from the future.

DUNROBIN – Roughly 15 community members attended St. Mary’s Anglican Church’s ringing of the bell today (Sept. 9) to commemorate the passing of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96 on Thursday, Sept. 8.

DUNROBIN – A Carp and Ottawa church put their combined efforts together to raise $20,000 for the war-ravaged residents of Ukraine.

FITZROY HARBOUR – A car lover’s event for car lovers last Saturday (Aug. 27) was a hit for Arnprior Special Olympics.

DUNROBIN – St. Mary’s Old Time Corn Roast returned last Wednesday (Aug. 24), after a two-year absence, and it was warmly welcomed by the community and beyond, enjoying great food in a beautiful setting.

DUNROBIN – Award-winning writer, Dunrobin’s Jim McEwen’s first novel is a critically acclaimed ode to Ottawa Valley and his West Carleton home, thinly veiled as a fictional community.
