CONSTANCE BAY – Last Wednesday evening (Oct. 8) the Constance Bay library hosted award-winning Dunrobin author Jim McEwen for the first in a series of fireside chats as the Ottawa Public Library (OPL) celebrates Canadian Library month.

MacLAREN’S LANDING – Last Saturday (Sept. 20) Jack and Janet MacLaren hosted a fundraiser for controversial suspended Ottawa Police Service (OPS) detective Const. Helen Grus, with speakers in attendance referring to her as one of the great female heroes in history.

EDMONTON – From coast-to-coast-to-coast, Woodlawn’s Jonathon Braun and his friend Jesse Harink battled physical tests, mental challenges and 10 pairs of contestants as rabid as they were, but in the end, are your season 11 Amazing Race Canada champions.

DUNROBIN – For the first time in a long time, there was a community party to attend in Dunrobin after dark last Saturday (Sept. 13) night.

CARP – With the Carp Fair only weeks ago, the 4-H Swine Club is pretty busy getting ready for the big auction, but not so busy they don’t have time to bake several hundred cookies for charity.

WILLOLA BEACH – For 20 years the Willola Beach community has gathered for a barbecue at the Campbell house for a community get together that also celebrates a pivotal moment in Willola Beach’s recent history.
