DUNROBIN – Currently, catastrophic weather or climate events are occurring weekly in Canada.

GALETTA – The volunteers didn’t see it coming, but when it arrived, the Galetta Community Association (GCA), knew they had a record-breaking breakfast turnout on their hands last Sunday (March 29), and lots of work to do.

DUNROBIN – Last night’s (March 25) Dunrobin Community Association (DCA) annual general meeting had plenty of fireworks, but in this case, it was talk about them, and their cost specifically.

KINBURN – For the first time in the history of the CARHA Hockey ODR Contest, which debuted during COVID, representatives of the not-for-profit recreational hockey insurers got to visit one of the winning outdoor rinks.

CARP – For the first time in their history, the Carp River’s tributaries have been mapped by the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA).

WEST CARLETON – This is one train no one saw coming until this past January when ALTO, the Canadian crown corporation tasked with delivering the proposed $90 billion project, announced the nation’s first high-speed train is in the works.

FITZROY HARBOUR – A year and a bit in to his role as Fitzroy Harbour and Constance Bay’s new Catholic priest, Father Anthony Nwaohiri says he loves his new community, but hasn’t learned to play euchre yet.

CONSTANCE BAY – The freezing cold made its return yesterday (March 1), but that didn’t stop a record-breaking number of anglers from heading down to the rock-solid Ottawa River for a chance at a share pf $10,040 at the 19th annual Mike and Pete’s Ice Fishing Derby.

CONSTANCE BAY – Warm weather and lots of snow made the 19th annual Old Sled Run a record-breaking event.

KINBURN – Perfect shinny weather made the inaugural Kinburn Four-Versus-Four Hockey Tournament a hit featuring eight teams battling it out on the community centre’s outdoor ice, but mostly having fun.
