GALETTA – When it comes to family friendly fun, the second annual Great Galetta Gathering ticked all the boxes last Saturday (July 26).

CAMBRIDGE – It was a historic season for Harvard University’s already historic rowing team, topped off with all four of its lightweight varsity rowing teams sweeping the 2025 Eastern Sprints – a feat the Harvard Rowing Team hasn’t done since the 1998 season.

DUNROBIN – It’s a busy time at Holly’s Haven Wildlife Rescue with more than 70 wild animals currently under its care. And for the first time ever, a moose.

KINBURN – The Fitzroy Township Historical Society (FTHS) put out the call, and the Ottawa Valley’s car community brought the wheels for a pre-Canada Day Antique Show and Shine Saturday, June 29.

WEST CARLETON – A mid-week Canada Day is not ideal, but West Carleton residents made the best of it enjoying time with friends and family at their own events, at some of Ward 5’s classic Canada Day events as well as a new, international one in Fitzroy Harbour.

ASHTON – In only eight brief years, the EY Golf Quest 4 Clinical Trials golf tournament has become one of Ottawa’s largest charity tournaments, and last week broke its own record raising roughly $2 million for The Ottawa Hospital.

WOODLAWN – Last week (June 5) the Agriculture and Rural Affairs committee chose not to close a road allowance in Woodlawn which is a required step to allow Nicholls Gas owner Gagan Panjhazari to purchase the property immediately adjacent to his business.

NEPEAN – Following a nearly 10-hour (not including two recesses) meeting yesterday (June 5) featuring 69 delegations, the Agriculture and Rural Affairs committee (ARAc) unanimously voted to recommend council not provide a Municipal Support Resolution to Evolugen’s South March Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility.

CONSTANCE BAY – Constance Bay shares several issues with all West Carleton but also has a variety of issues unique to the riverside community, and last week (May 28) Ward 5 Coun. Clarke Kelly and a team of City of Ottawa staffers attempted to address those issues directly with the residents during a town hall meeting.

DUNROBIN – It was a rainy set-up but the Dunrobin and District Women’s Institute (WI) joined the West Carleton community garage sale Saturday, May 24 and raised more than $1,000 for the West Carleton Food Access Centre (WCFAC).
