CROWN POINT – A man who inadvertently drove on to Ottawa River ice escaped with no injuries after his car broke through the ice near Crown Point yesterday (Jan. 5).

CARP – A local feast held last fall in Carp that provided diners with the incredible flavours of the West Carleton harvest will continue to feed those who need help most this holiday season as the Carp Business Improvement Area (BIA) made a $10,000 donation to the West Carleton Food Access Centre (WCFAC) today (Dec. 21).

GALETTA – A tradition in the short commerce season of MacGowan’s Christmas Tree Farm near Galetta, the MacGowan’s and their team raised more than $1,500 for the West Carleton Food Access Centre (WCFAC) through annual their treat program.

CARP – After years of COVID, torrential downpours, and frigid weather, the stars aligned Saturday (Dec. 9) evening and perfect Santa Claus parade conditions brought out record numbers and huge crowds.

KINBURN – After a long night bringing up the tail of Constance Bay’s first nighttime parade Saturday (Dec. 2), Santa Claus spent Sunday decompressing, enjoying brunch and greeting the kids of Kinburn.

WOODLAWN – The owners of Nicholls General Store have changed the locks due to non-payment of rent by the operators.

DUNROBIN – For the seventh time in as many years, the countdown went off without a hitch. On Sunday, Nov. 26 the tree at the intersection of Dunrobin Road and Thomas Dolan Parkway also known as Younghusband’s Corner lit up at precisely 6:30 p.m. to the delight of all in attendance.  

CARP – The not-for-profit community organization the Carp Ridge Learning Centre (CRLC) is going to spend 2024 working on itself, while still contributing to its community.
