WEST CARLETON – When the Wilson family moved to the country they were looking forward to enjoying the peace and tranquility of a rural lifestyle.

CARP – After years of COVID, torrential downpours, and frigid weather, the stars aligned Saturday (Dec. 9) evening and perfect Santa Claus parade conditions brought out record numbers and huge crowds.

KINBURN – After a long night bringing up the tail of Constance Bay’s first nighttime parade Saturday (Dec. 2), Santa Claus spent Sunday decompressing, enjoying brunch and greeting the kids of Kinburn.

WOODLAWN – The owners of Nicholls General Store have changed the locks due to non-payment of rent by the operators.

DUNROBIN – For the seventh time in as many years, the countdown went off without a hitch. On Sunday, Nov. 26 the tree at the intersection of Dunrobin Road and Thomas Dolan Parkway also known as Younghusband’s Corner lit up at precisely 6:30 p.m. to the delight of all in attendance.  

CARP – The not-for-profit community organization the Carp Ridge Learning Centre (CRLC) is going to spend 2024 working on itself, while still contributing to its community.

KINBURN – The 41st annual Kinburn Christmas Craft and Gift Sale was much like the first one – a community hit, and knitter extraordinaire Pat Vallaincourt was there.

FITZROY HARBOUR – For the second time in as many weeks, the Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre hall hosted another Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) proponent-led consultation, this time for the proposed Arnprior BESS project proposed by Potentia Renewables. 

CONSTANCE BAY – The West Carleton Royal Canadian Legion’s Remembrance Day parade had the enjoyable honour of marching under the sun and in moderate temperatures Saturday (Nov. 4) afternoon, a rare occurrence in recent years.

CARP – One of Carp’s oldest buildings enjoyed a spruce-up this summer including new paint, new trim, and now a new mural honouring some of the village’s historic buildings.
