FITZROY HARBOUR – A large Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project known as Fitzroy BESS was selected by the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) to move forward despite objections from City of Ottawa council.

CARP – In what might be the least surprising survey results in West Carleton history, Village of Carp residents are overwhelmingly in favour of the village connecting to the City of Ottawa’s water service.

CONSTANCE BAY – The rain held off, for the most part, allowing roughly 50 registered volunteers to roll up their sleeves and give their Constance Bay community a good scrubbing last Saturday (April 27).

CARP – It was a smaller attendance than usual for the Huntley Community Association’s (HCA) annual general meeting last Thursday (April 25), and those in attendance learned the HCA is in a strong financial position and looking to spend in 2024.

WEST CARLETON – There were two structure fires in West Carleton yesterday (April 27) with the community’s volunteer firefighters responding quickly to both blazes.

CARP – It was a sold-out intimate affair, but the second annual Girls and Pearls fundraiser was another success Friday (April 19) night, raising much needed funds for the West Carleton Food Access Centre (WCFAC).

CARP – The 1st Carp Scouts have a lot of stuff for all the activities they do every year, and thanks to the help of the Carp community, they now have a permanent spot to store all that stuff.

CORKERY – COVID, inflation, budget issues, construction delays, whatever the issue, the Corkery community has been without their community centre for nearly two years.

CARP – Last week a crowd of around 50 took in the Friends of the Carp Hills’ (FCH) 10th annual general meeting highlighted by a talk on some of the lichens that can be found there.

CARP – Lordy, lordy look who’s 40. Last Saturday (March 30), the West Carleton Skating Club (WCSC) celebrated their 40th year the only way they know how – with an ice show.
