Bring out the umbrellas tonight

WEST CARLETON – Environment Canada is issuing a Rainfall Warning calling for as much as 40 millimetres falling from the heavens starting tonight (April 6).
“A significant rainfall is expected beginning overnight or early Thursday morning,” Environment Canada released in a statement today. “Total rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 mm are expected by the time the rain tapers off Friday (April 8) morning. Locally higher rainfall amounts to 40 mm are possible.”
Environment Canada says the current conditions means localized flooding is possible.
“The ground, already near saturation, has little ability to absorb further rainfall,” the weather prognosticators said.
