CONSTANCE BAY – One of this year’s Constance Bay Skateway fundraisers is Archie’s Skate Sharpening, and the two volunteer-run organizations will be coming together tomorrow (Feb. 19).
A skate sharpening business that opened to help support the costs associated with building and maintaining the Constance Bay Skateway will be packing up its mobile skate sharpener and heading closer to the popular skateway for the trail’s official Skateway Winterfest happening Saturday.
“Weather permitting, we will be bringing our setup closer to the Constance Bay Skateway during the Winterfest this Saturday,” the Archie Street Skate Sharpening volunteers released in a statement yesterday (Feb. 17). “Feel free to visit us at 617 Bayview Dr., whether you want your skates sharpened or just to say hello. Please note this is a temporary location to be used only on Saturday, Feb. 19, during the posted time period.”
Archie Street Skate Sharpening will be open for business or pleasure between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The Constance Bay Skateway Winterfest is just a casual day for the community to enjoy the start of Family Day weekend and get outside, on the Ottawa River and enjoy the skateway the volunteers have worked so hard on.
“Come out to the skateway to celebrate winter in Constance Bay,” organizers released in a statement. “Bring your friends, bring your trucks, and feel free to tailgate. The skateway crew will have barbecues at various access points.”
