All WCODR teams ready for players, important dates

WEST CARLETON – One good thing about all this cold and snow – our outdoor rinks are on their way to skate-ability.

West Carleton Online reported earlier this week registration for some of the village outdoor hockey teams was open. Well, now it’s open for all teams. If you are interested in having your child, between the ages of five and 15, play in the coolest sports league in West Carleton, the West Carleton Outdoor Hockey League is for you.

“Soon the river will be frozen and so will our outdoor rinks,” WCOHL volunteers released in a statement today. “We now officially are open for all registrations for this year’s ODR season in Constance Bay, Fitzroy Harbour and Carp. Please be advised, we welcome all children from neighboring communities to join in the fun this year. See below for important dates and links.”

Important Dates:

– Dec. 15: Registrations deadline date to allow us to organize teams and build a schedule.
– Dec. 7: Hockey Equipment Exchange on from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Carp Outdoor Rink
– Jan. 4: ODR season begins (weather permitting)
