The Corkery fire hall, Station 84, is hosting its annual pancake breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with breakfast, coffee, tea and some fun lessons on fire prevention for the kids.

After breakfast head next door to the Corkery Community Centre for a combination sale of plants and baked goods.

The Corkery Gardening Club is hosting its annual plant sale at the Corkery Community Centre at 3449 Old Almonte Rd. 

“These plant sales allow our club to lend a helping hand to local charities, occasionally subsidize workshop costs and garden tours,” the garden club released in a statement. “It’s also an excellent opportunity to meet your neighbours, and if you’re new to the community, why not consider joining the club? You don’t have to be a member to donate plants if you are cleaning out your gardens, or splitting perennials, if you’re looking for new homes for them. Just be sure to label your donations, ie. name of plant, sun or shade loving, colour of flower, if any.”

The first gardening club meeting is Thursday, May 30 at 7 p.m. at the community centre and plant sale donations can be dropped off at that time. For more information please contact  caparnell18@gmail.com

Currently, volunteers can sign up for donation baked goods for the Corkery Bake Sale, on Saturday June 1. Items can be delivered the morning of between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. at the community centre, or the night before if you email Corkery Community Association president Katherine Woodward.
