The Coldest Night of the Year – 2026
It’s official!
Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC) is participating in the Coldest Night of the Year Fundraiser again on February 28th, 2026. This Canada-Wide initiative is a family-friendly 2 & 5 km fundraising walk in support of local charities like us!
By walking and fundraising, you’re supporting WOCRC strengthen the health and wellbeing of community member of Western Ottawa. With last years funds we were able to do so much, including:
- Support nearly 200 families through our Holiday Hamper Program
- Stock an emergency food cupboard and provide essential gift cards to those in crisis
- Launch an initiative promoting family nutrition and breastfeeding support
- Offer start-up gift cards to those leaving our women’s shelter, Chrysalis House, as they rebuild safe, stable lives
- Enhance dementia-focused activities in our Adult Day Program using innovative technology
There are different ways to get involved in the fundraiser:
- Sign up as a team captain and recruit your friends, family, and neighbours
- Join an existing team — our WOCRC General Team would love to have you!
- Donate to the campaign directly, volunteer, or help spread the word
