Learn to dance in Kinburn

Special to WC Online

JINBURN – With the cold weather here, it’s time to move indoors – which is the perfect place to perfect your dance moves.

The Kinburn Community Association (KCA) is hosting four weeks of dance classes – specifically, west coast swing dance classes.

“Love to dance, but don’t have an opportunity?” the KCA released in a statement last week (Nov. 13). “Don’t have a dance partner? Do not know how? Join us for a four-week introduction.”

The KCA is hosting west coast swing dance steps, led by local volunteers Judy Makin and Glyn Storey.

The four-week session starts today (Nov. 18) and continues Tuesdays from 1:30 to 3 p.m. to Dec. 9 at the Kinburn Community Centre (3045 Kinburn Side Rd.).

Singles are welcome, partners are not required, but the program is for adults only.

Maximum class size is 20 people.

“Bring indoor shoes that can slide (slippers, leather soles, socks, etc.) and a water bottle,” the KCA said. “You don’t stop dancing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop dancing.”

The cost is $10 per person if paid in advance of $25 at the first class.
