This ceremony will feature the dedication of a permanent land acknowledgement installation outside the Diefenbunker Museum. This project is made possible thanks to an investment from the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).
Special guests include Acting-Chief of the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan, Merv Sarazin, and a representative on behalf of FedDev Ontario.

This public ceremony, hosted by Makatew Workshops, will include the lighting of a sacred fire, cultural presentations, and traditional teachings from Knowledge Keepers and Elders, alongside reflections from community leaders.
Special guests include Residential Schools survivor Shirly Caibaiosai, Ward 5 Councillor Clarke Kelly, MPP Karen McCrimmon, and MP Jenna Sudds.
Both ceremonies are free to attend and open to all.
Events will take place outside the Diefenbunker Museum, at 3929 Carp Road, Ottawa. Find detailed directions on our website. There is limited free and accessible parking available on site. Bottled water will be available by donation in support of the Legacy of Hope Foundation. Outdoor toilets will be available. Please note that the museum will be closed.
