Carp’s EcoWellness Centre a healthy holiday gift

CARP – If you are still on the look-out for the perfect present, why not stuff a stocking with the gift of wellness.
This year the Carp Ridge EcoWellness Centre is offering gift cards that are redeemable for any of their services. Cards are available online at carpridge.janeapp.com. For in-person shopping, there is also a small shop at the centre which features local and unique products. It is open until Dec. 20.
Last Thursday (Dec. 12), West Carleton Online dropped by the Carp Ridge EcoWellness Centre to learn more about what’s on offer for last minute shoppers. We met with the centre’s Mallory Peisley who told us there are currently two naturopathic doctors and six other practitioners at the centre who collectively offer a very long list of services.
“Much of what we offer is unique and not available elsewhere in this area,” Peisley said. “For example, one of the massage therapies we offer is called Shiatsu massage. This is done fully clothed and uses gentle pressure on specific body areas to improve well-being. We also offer holistic aesthetics for which there are a number of therapies.”
According to the centre’s website, the goal of holistic aesthetics is a cleansing of the pores and the soul. Facialist healers who blend New Age beliefs with state-of-the-art treatment are the new beauty gurus.
Peisley says new clients often begin with diagnostic testing as a place to start their wellness journey and to pinpoint areas of concern.
“Many patients start with the Bioscan SRT which will determine what your body is sensitive to, what is stressing it and where it is out of balance,” she said. “From there the patient will have access to the whole team depending on the needs.”
Since 1997 the Carp Ridge EcoWellness Centre has been offering its clients a sacred place to heal. Founder Dr. Katherine Willow, ND says the natural landscape of rocks, forest and wetlands that surround the Centre, “still fills us with awe.”
