Call for Auditions – The Rural Root Theatre Company

Are you passionate about acting and have a flair for the stage? Join us for an exciting opportunity to be a part of our upcoming theatrical production. We are looking for talented and dedicated individuals to bring our play to life and create a memorable experience for our audience.
Play Title: The Viewing Room by Mark Smith
Audition Details:
- Date: Wednesday August 23rd and Sunday August 27th
- Time: 7:00 p.m. (Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for registration)
- Location: Constance & Buckham’s Bay Community Centre, 262 Len Purcell Dr., Constance Bay (Woodlawn, On.)
- No prior acting experience required, and all ages are welcome to audition.
- Prepared monologues are encouraged but not mandatory. Cold readings from the script will be required.
About the Play: Saying good-bye to the dearly departed has never been so funny in this brand-new comedy set in the viewing room of a Holyoke, MA funeral home. When an estranged son returns home after years away, you will be surprised by who gets the last word. The show centers around a stern patriarch who has recently passed away before he has had a chance to make amends with his very dysfunctional family. The play – while loaded with laughs – is timeless due to its themes of reconciliation and family.
