OFA to host Ward 5 all-candidates meeting Oct. 5

KINBURN – The Arnprior Region of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) will be hosting an election date for the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
The OFA regularly hosted all-candidates meetings at the Kinburn Community Centre at all three levels of government elections, but has not done so since the 2019 federal election, and what West Carleton politico could forget that one?
The OFA did not hold an all-candidates meeting for the 2021 federal election – one most organizations avoided due to the COVID-19 pandemic and public health regulations forbidding group indoor events.
During the provincial election earlier this year, no organization within West Carleton held an all-candidates meeting for Carleton-Kanata candidates.
But the OFA is returning to playing an active role in the democratic process, and will hold an all-candidates meeting for Ward 5, West Carleton-March council candidates on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at the Kinburn Community Centre (3945 Kinburn Side Rd.).
Doors open at 6 p.m. with the meeting beginning at 7 p.m. As is usually the case with OFA-led all-candidates meetings, the focus will be on rural and agricultural concerns.
