WEST CARLETON – Put on the floods and break out the gumboots because Environment Canada is expecting today (July 8) will be a gusher.
For the first time this year, Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning calling for as much as 30 to 50 millimetres of rain today.
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to move across the area.
“Some of these showers and thunderstorms will be capable of producing locally heavy rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm,” Environment Canada Said. Isolated amounts exceeding 50 mm will also be possible in some locations. Thus, Rainfall Warnings may be required for portions of the area. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry district office.”
