Carp Fair to light up village Sept. 26
Special to WC Online
CARP – For those Carp residents who will be missing the lights of the midway this fourth weekend of September, the Carp Agricultural Society has your back.
In the form of what the society guarantees will be the one of the largest fireworks shows of 2020.
“Come down to the Carp village on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. for a firework show you won’t forget,” Carp Fair organizers released in a statement today (Sept. 16).
The fireworks show takes place on what would have been day three of the Carp Fair had it not been cancelled due to COVID-19. The Carp Agricultural Society made the heartbreaking decision to cancel the fair due to the COVID-19 pandemic last June. The Carp Fair had only been cancelled one other time back in 1870 because of The Great Fire.
“For safety and fire restrictions the fair grounds will be locked to the public but be assured this show can be seen from anywhere in the village,” the Carp Fair said. “We hope you enjoy the show.”
Funding for the fireworks show is provided by the Government of Ontario and the City of Ottawa.
