DUNROBIN – Physical defenceman, Dunrobin’s Jonathan McMillan was signed by Jr. B hockey team the Arnprior Packers for the upcoming season.
McMillan, a 17-year-old defenceman who split time with the Kanata Lasers U18 AAA team and the CCHL2 Renfrew Timberwolves last year, will join the Packers for 2020.
In 39 games with the Lasers last year, the left-shooting McMillan scored six goals and 14 points while adding 34 penalty minutes.
“Arnprior is proud to welcome Jonathan McMillan to the Packers for this coming season,” the organization released in a statement today (Sept. 1). “Jonathan is a strong, puck-moving defenceman that can shut down other teams defensively along with contributing offensively.”
McMillan played three games with the now defunct Timberwolves last season including one playoff game. McMillan brings size to the Packers and is listed at 6’2” and 194 pounds.
“A fantastic young man both on and off the ice,” Packers general manager and owner Matthew Couvrette said. “We’re looking forward to having him join us this year.”
The former CCHL2 league, which the Packers were a part of last year, will now be known as the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League in 2020.
