CARP – The Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre (DSYTC) will unveil its donor wall on Friday, Sept. 25, from 1 to 3 p.m. at 1895 Bradley Side Rd. in Carp.

“The event will honour the donors and community partners who helped make the Centre possible and celebrate the achievement of its $20 million capital campaign goal,” DSYTC vice president of Philanthropy Cindy Manor released in a statement today (Sept. 23). “More than 80 invited guests will tour the purpose-built centre before the formal program begins at approximately 2:05 p.m.”

Mayor Mark Sutcliffe is scheduled to deliver remarks and officially declare Sept. 25 Dave Smith Day. Remarks from DSYTC leadership, the campaign chairs and a former youth in treatment will follow. The donor wall unveiling is scheduled for approximately 2:27 p.m.

“Every name on this wall represents someone who believed in young people,” Manor said. “It will remind the youth who come through our doors that a community stands behind them.”

The donor wall permanently recognizes the individuals, families, businesses, foundations and community organizations whose support helped create a place for young people and families to access treatment and build healthier futures.

“It is impossible to adequately express the extent of our gratitude to all who so generously contributed to our capital campaign. Our purpose-built facility provides a safe and compassionate treatment environment for those youth who require our care and will be a permanent legacy for all who helped make Dave Smith’s dream a reality,” DSYTC President and CEO Mike Beauchesne said.
