DESCRIPTION:Friends of the Carp Hillsare pleased to have as their AGM guest speaker Dr. Troy McMullin who will make a presentation on Adventures in Lichenology.  Dr. McMullin is a research scientist in lichenology and the head of Botany at the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa. \n\n\nJoin Troy for an introduction to lichens and to learn about his perambulations throughout North America studying these fascinating but often overlooked organisms. He will present discoveries in lichen biogeography\, ecology\, ethnolichenology\, and taxonomy. He will also show how lichens are used in medicine\, as dyes\, as food\, in space\, and much more. Come and appreciate the small things in life. \n\n\nTroy will also highlight a lichen that he discovered in the Carp Hills that is new to North America. \n
