SUMMARY:WCAS virtual Expressions of Art Show
DESCRIPTION:Expressions of Art is West Carleton Art Society’s premier art show and sale and has been in operation for more than 25 years. Held annually at the Carp Agricultural Hall (just west of Ottawa\, Ontario)\, it features the work of approximately 30 artists from around the region. In 2019\, more than 2000 visitors came through the doors. \nFor 2020\, the show moved from an in-house selection committee to a formal jury process\, with 30 artists qualifying. However\, due to Covid-19\, the West Carleton Arts Society elected to move the show online featuring 26 of the original artists. This year\, due to COVID-19\, the event is virtual. Purchases will be excepted until Oct. 31. To enjoy the West Carleton Art Society’s Expression of Art virtual show\, click the link before. \n\nExpressions of Art Online \n\n

SUMMARY:Huntley Community Association Annual General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Huntley Community Association HCA will beam its Oct. 29 annual general meeting directly in to your living room (or wherever your computer is). \n“In a normal year\, the HCA would have held the 2019-2020 AGM last April\, however circumstances with COVID-19 have resulted in a delay hoping we could still have an in-person AGM\,” HCA director Amy Baldry released in a statement today (Oct. 6). “Sadly\, this is now impossible\, and as such the HCA is planning a virtual AGM using Zoom as the platform for the meeting.” \nBecause a computer and/or Internet access will be required to attend the AGM\, the HCA is trying its best to make the meeting accessible to all. \n“For anyone that does not have access to computer\, or prefers the idea of attending the AGM at the HCA Mess Hall on Craig Side Road\, a limited number of seats will be available for people to reserve\,” Baldry said. “Nineteen chairs will be socially spaced at the mess hall and a screen will be available to watch the proceedings.” \nBaldry says an HCA executive member will be in attendance to ensure the viewing works correctly. To request a seat\, please send an e-mail request for a reserved seat to Outdoorrink@hca-carp.ca. \n“Requests will be based upon a first come\, first served basis\,” Baldry said. “Confirmation of your seat will be sent immediately after receipt of e-mail.” \nFor those wishing to use Zoom to attend the AGM\, please send an e-mail to: Outdoorrink@hca-carp.ca. \nA confirmation e-mail will be sent immediately. \nA further return e-mail will be sent on the Tuesday\, Oct. 27\, prior to the Thursday meeting with a password and all pertinent information to log in to the AGM. \nThe AGM agenda will highligh the accomplishments of the HCA in 2019 as well as provide a financial report. \n“Our president\, Judy Makin\, will also outline a summary of the strategic planning the board has undertaken\, to find a way ahead over the next several years\,” Baldry said. “Changes to the HCA constitution will be presented at our next AGM in April 2021 for approval by the community. As always\, there will be elections of directors\, and time for questions. Should you have any questions concerning the AGM\, please contact Makin at president@hca-carp.ca. We’re proud of all the work we do\, with you\, and for you\, and hope you will tune in on Oct. 29.” \n
