SUMMARY:Ward 5 Budget 2025 Public Consultation
DESCRIPTION:\nThe City of Ottawa engages with residents each year to gather ideas and feedback as it drafts the budget for City Council’s consideration. Councillor Kelly will again be holding a public consultation to give West Carleton-March residents a chance to have their say and give their rural perspective on the 2025 Draft Budget. \n\n\nThe in-person consultation is set for October 22nd from 6pm-9pm at the West Carleton Community Centre\, 5670 Carp Road in Kinburn. \n\n\nThe following evening\, Councillor Kelly will also be co-hosting a joint public consultation with the City’s other rural wards: Ward 1\, Ward 5\, Ward 19\, Ward 20 and Ward 21. This one will be held on October 23rd at 6:30pm at Rideau Valley Conservation Centre 3889 Rideau Valley Drive.  \nRural Councillors taking part include: \n\n\n\nWard 1: Councillor Matt Luloff\nWard 5: Councillor Clarke Kelly\nWard 19: Councillor Catherine Kitts\nWard 20: Councillor George Darouze\nWard 21: Councillor David Brown\n\n\n\nYou have many other opportunities to provide your input on items reflected in the budget year-round through Councillor Kelly’s office\, committee meetings\, social media\, contacting 3-1-1 and scheduled engagement opportunities during the budget process. \n\n\nYour feedback helps shape the City’s budget priorities and contributes to decisions about investing in a sustainable\, secure\, and prosperous city for all. \n\nOpportunities for participation in the budget process\n\n\nYear-round: \n\n\n\n\nSubmit your ideas to Councillor Kelly. \n\n\nWatch\, attend or participate in committee and Council meetings to learn more about important decisions at City Hall. \n\n\nProvide input on public engagement opportunities that matter to you through Engage Ottawa. \n\n\nCall 3-1-1 (TTY: 613-580-2401). Rural residents call 613-580-2400 \n\n\n\n\nDrafting the budget: \n\n\n\n\nParticipate in the budget poll from August 6 to September 13. Your responses on the city’s priorities will help shape the development of the draft budget. \n\n\n\n\nFeedback on the Draft Budget: \n\n\n\n\nThe draft budget will be tabled at Council on November 13. \n\n\nFollowing tabling\, residents can provide feedback on the draft budget in the following ways: \n\n\nAsk questions through the City’s Engage Ottawa webpage. Question submissions will be open for the public between November 13 and December 9. \n\n\nJoin us at a standing committee meeting. All City Council and standing committee meetings are open to the public and your attendance is welcomed and encouraged. Members of the public may provide either written or oral submissions (or both) to committee meetings related to items on the Committee’s agenda. Check back regularly on this page or on Ottawa.ca to stay current with the standing committee dates for budget considerations. \n\n\nYou can live stream meetings and access past recordings on the Ottawa City Council YouTube Channel. Regular City Council meetings are broadcast live on RogersTV Cable 22 and live streamed on the RogersTV website. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nBudget adoption: \n\n\n\n\nCouncil will approve the 2025 budget on December 11.
