DESCRIPTION:A giant yard sale will be held on Saturday to support preserving the Burnt Lands Alvar from encroaching development. There is a proposal by Cavanagh Construction to expand its March Road quarry into land that is shown in Ottawa’s Official Plan as a Natural Environment area with Environmental Protection zoning. It’s also designated by the Province of Ontario as an Area of Natural and Scientific Interest. It’s up to all of us to oppose unfettered development of  irreplaceable natural areas for the sake of profit. \n
